Owen’s Oatmeal

  • 1/3 C steel cut oats
  • 1 C rice or almond milk
  • small handful dried fruit
  • 1/4 chopped apple
  • 1/4 tsp flax meal
  • sprinkle of cinnamon
  • squeeze of agave nectar

Preparation & Directions

Put all ingredients in a pot, bring to a light boil.  Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes or until you reach the desired consistency.  I find that Owen doesn’t enjoy the waiting time that it takes to cool off so the best little trick…as soon as it’s done, poor it onto a large dinner plate and stir around the plate for about 30 seconds, then pour into a bowl, cools if off just enough.
