Here’s a great treat breakfast to serve your kiddos! It’s a staple in our home once a week. Pretty healthy considering the other alternative recipes for French Toast (the adult recipes!)
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup rice or almond milk
- pinch of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp flax meal (optional)
- fresh berries (optional)
- 2 pieces bread
- pure maple syrup
Preparation & Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla, milk and cinnamon. Dip the bread in and let sit for a few seconds on each side. Cook on medium heat until you’ve reached the dryness you desire. We add a small puddle of syrup on the side rather than saturating the french toast with it…he seems to like the dipping idea (age 4!). Top with fresh berries if desired.
