I was out with some girlfriends tonight and we got to talking about cooking and quick meals so it inspired me to post this really quick and yummy italian recipe.  It’s definitely not one of my most healthy recipes so it doesn’t get made too often, but give it a whirl!

Italian Fusilli

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fusilli (curly pasta)
  • 8 oz mild or hot Italian sausage (taken out of casing)
  • 2 cans (14 oz) Italian stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped fresh basil
  • salt, pepper and parmesan cheese to taste

Preparation & Directions

Start cooking pasta.  Brown the sausage over medium-hi heat (about 6 minutes) until cooked.  Stir in tomatoes.  Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.  Stir in chopped basil.  Toss to mix with cooked pasta.  Sprinkle with parmesan and serve.
