Psalm 18

Psalm 18:16-19
He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
    he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
    from my foes, who were too strong for me.
They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
    but the LORD was my support.
He brought me out into a spacious place;
    he rescued me because he delighted in me.

The Lord brought me these verses a few days ago and I have not been able to stop thinking or meditating on them since.  The God of the universe, the Creator, the Everlasting, reaching down and taking hold of me…I can hardly put my mind around it.  Such a vast God yet so personal, a God of all mankind yet a Father to me.  A God who creates every life yet has the time and takes the time to tend to mine.  He rescues, sometimes from the enemy and sometimes in the midst of the battle, regardless He rescues.  Not only does He rescue and remove us from the enemy but He brings us to a spacious place - one of safety and peace and sustained protection….all because He delights in us.  THE God delights in you.  Can you begin to humble yourself enough to accept that, without feeling like you owe God something or you have to be just so in order for Him to delight in you?  We are precious to Him and no matter how unfaithful we are to Him, He remains faithful, because He delights in us.  I hope you get to sit with His word today and hear Him speak to you.  He delights in you and delights to be with you.
